mary van at 6 months

Nope, can't believe it.  My baby is 6 months old.  Best 6 months of our lives.  :)

She goes to the doctor in a few weeks so I don't have measurements right now.  She is a growing girl though.  She is so happy and sweet.  She sleeps from 7-8 pm to 6-7 am every night.  I don't think she is the best napper but it doesn't seem to affect her too much.  I probably don't help because I don't put her down to nap on the weekends so she usually sleeps with me on the couch or in her swing.  Oops.  Gotta work on that.  She is eating at 7 am, 10 am (bottle plus food), 1 pm, 4 pm and again at 7 pm.  6 ounces each.  She has tried pears, sweet potatoes, bananas and peas so far.  Bananas were her favorite by far.  She is rolling both ways, sitting up on her own and scooting a lot.  She loves the pool!  She laughs so sweetly and loves to put things in her mouth.  Might she teethe soon?!  She is making all sorts of noises but mostly sounds like a pterodactyl - very shrieky.

here she is at 5 months
(I will have to do a post soon of all the monthly bear pictures!)

her old crib at daycare.  once she rolls over, they move her to one with a lowered mattress.

her new big girl crib.  I put her here in the mornings until the ladies decide where they want her.  I love her peeking out.  :)

for the world cup, her uncle got her a bosnia onesie.  they didn't advance from the group stage but played with heart and pride!

in her usa outfit.  she cheered hard!

and another one.

some of the cute outfits I have bought her lately.  I don't have the money to be doing this so I have to stop!!  they are just too precious.  :)

trying rice cereal for the first time.  she is not a fan.  I won't be either - it smells really bad.

'maybe i'll like it'

'nope, not good'

a friend had this photo from the hospital and just sent it to me.  it's the only one of the three of us and I love it!!

she sits in her bouncer in the bathroom while I get ready in the mornings.  I walk out of the closet the other day and she is sitting up.  this is common occurrence now.  I may have to start getting up and ready before her soon.  Yikes!

See, sitting on her own!

love this watermelon smocked outfit.

born to be wild onesie that her great-grandmother mema got her.  :)

on july 5th, her second cousin skylar came to visit!  she was born two days before mv.  they are adorable together!!

can't wait to see them grow up together!

chilling in the pool.  she keeps trying to drink the water!

I love this one with her shades on her head!

And she fell asleep.  haha.

we had all the grandparents over to celebrate with a pool party, dinner and cupcakes from small cakes.  YUM!! From 12 o'clock: maple bacon, cookies n cream, smores, red velvet, chocoholic, peanut butter cup and hot fudge sundae in the middle.

yesterday we had a photo session at the house.  disclaimer: I am not a professional.  :)  I thought some of these were really cute though...

this one was totally candid but may be my favorite.  :)  another bb blanket.

with 'her' birthday cupcake.

I love this one because she is drooling.  :)

with her music box from mema - you are my sunshine. (she looks so chubby here!)

with her rattle from gail and allen

and one of her favorite teethers.

love this little girl oh so much!!

chicken piccata and andouille gnocchi

Believe it or not, I have been able to cook a few meals lately.  Neither of these are very healthy but I had some cream left from the shrimp and grits baptism competition so I have used that up.  I usually use fat-free half and half instead of heavy cream.  Both of these dishes were amazing though!

Chicken piccata (sauce)

Hammered out chicken.  That was fun and stress-reducing!  :)

Holy moly.  This was amazing!!!  Emeril's recipe and I made the creole seasoning for later too.  I served it over gnocchi.

the 4th

As you can imagine, the 4th was a little different this year!  I was in the house most of the time with MV, Liza and Maggie.  I did get an hour to swim and lay out on Friday.  And we spent some time outside in the porch in the mornings.  We ended up coming back Saturday night because we were exhausted.  Brad stayed there and brought the boat back on Sunday.  I only have a few pictures...

Maggie and MV on the play mat.  Maggie wasn't too fond of it.

My sweet little watermelon

In Daddy's silly '706' hat

With Campbell.  She loves MV!

We took both dogs this year.  That was crazy too but so much easier than boarding them or taking them to Thomson.  Cheaper too!  Sully loved the water!

Ducky with Jay

Oh, random.  Brad bought himself a ranger for around the property.  He loves it!  We have nicknamed it branger.  After "brad's ranger' and a dog I had growing up.

Sweet Sully.  I love this picture.  :)
