pot roast

This is just a rough, place-holder for the best pot roast I have ever had.  I can't find the exact recipe but want to record it before I forget even more of the ingredients.  

Chuck roast (3-5 lbs)
package onion soup mix
can of beef consomme
can of cream of mushroom soup
water and red wine 
minced onions and garlic and other herbs

Brown roast in dutch oven. Add potatoes and carrots on top. Sprinkle with pepper and other herbs.  Pour wet ingredients over all to cover.  

Cook at 300 for 4-5 hours until nice and done.  Yum...
