dominican republic

To celebrate our 5th anniversary, we went to Sanctuary Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic. We actually booked this trip two years ago but had to cancel because I was so sick with Mary Van.
We basically laid under our little cabana on the beach every day. It was too hot to be in the sun and there was no breeze at the pool. Plus, we don't have a beach in our backyard!
The pools were beautiful however! This one was walk-in with a swim up bar.

The steakhouse restaurant was, by far, the best. We ate here two nights. The grill/seafood place had mediocre food and horrible service. The Italian restaurant was pretty good as well. There was a Japanese restaurant that we didn't make it to. Breakfast and lunch were huge buffets and, on the whole, pretty good.

The beach was little but pretty. The water was a little cloudy but a great temperature. They did have nets up to help with the seaweed which was nice.

At night, the pool had lights that changed colors. Brad loved the red for some reason.
These rooms are newer and you walk out into this pool. Would try to stay here if we return.

I would definitely consider a return trip. I will say our room was a little dated and poorly maintained. We had an oceanfront suite but I think we would do something different if we go back.
